Approximately 5% of all pregnant women in the US develop Gestational diabetes. It is becoming more and more common these days as so many people have bad eating habits. If you want to reverse diabetes then the first thing that you need to do is look at your diet and make some changes, but what changes should you make? There are thousands of diets out there- South beach, low fat, low carb, Mediterranean diet, and cabbage soup diet. They all work for the average person but they are not all good for diabetes.

Diabetes is a problem with sugar- so you need to cut out sugar and carbohydrates. Low fat diets usually promote a high carbohydrate diet and in general are not very effective. The best diet for reversing diabetes is an extreme low carbohydrate diet. Once the condition is stabilized then you can start integrating fruit and complex carbs back into your diet.

There are people who have gotten off all of their medication, reversed their condition and are leading perfectly healthy lives. But just like it took years for this condition to develop- it will take time for it to be reversed.
